Black Magic is a popular variety of hybrid tea rose

Hybrid tea rose Black Magic has not only a magical name, but also a corresponding appearance. The velvety petals are capable of conveying such dark shades that in the rays of the sun they look velvety black.

Unfortunately, it is still safe to say that black roses do not exist, but the Black Magic variety is without a doubt as close to the desired color as possible.

A unique beauty of the hybrid tea group Black Magic (Black Magic), bred by Tantau, grown in Germany in 1997. The variety was bred specifically for cutting and creating bouquets. But its real popularity came in 2000, when the flower took first place in the Golden Rose of Baden-Baden competition.

Brief description of the Black Magic variety

The hybrid rose "Black Magic" begins to bloom in mid-summer, with a large number of beautiful buds. Flowering continues until September-October.

Distinctive features of the variety:

  • A rose with a moderate number of thorns, consisting of 35-50 petals. The rose blooms with either one bud or four inflorescences on one branch. The inflorescence has a slightly elongated, goblet-shaped shape. In diameter, the average size of a bud does not exceed 10-12 cm.
  • Petals have a velvet structure ranging from burgundy to black.
  • The height of the rose bush is about one meter.
  • It should be noted that this variety not only has beautiful flowers, but also dense dark green foliage that glows in the sun.
  • A distinctive feature of the Black Magic rose is the fact that with the arrival of cooler weather in the fall, its petals become much darker, and the pleasant aroma becomes more intense.

Despite the fact that the variety was bred exclusively for cutting, Black Magic has the ability to remain in a vase for two weeks. The rose is resistant to unfavorable growing conditions, tolerates rainy weather, and is resistant to common diseases.

Landing technology

Due to its tall shoots and ability to tolerate unfavorable conditions, the Black Magic rose is recommended to be planted in open ground. However, if gardeners plan to use the flowers for sale, the plant can also be grown in greenhouses.

Deadlines

The optimal time for planting roses is spring. It is recommended to prepare the site for the plant after the temperature has reached above zero during the night. Young shoots have a weak root system that does not tolerate frost. In this regard, in central Russia, roses are planted in plots at the end of April or at the beginning of May.

It is impossible to plant a flower in open ground in the fall. The plant does not have time to take root sufficiently before the onset of cold weather.

Step-by-step process of planting a bush

Planting a rose is not difficult and requires the following steps:

  1. In a suitable place on the site, a hole is dug with a depth and width of 50 centimeters.
  2. A nutrient substrate consisting of wood ash, high soil and fertilizer for roses is poured into the bottom of the pit.
  3. The rose seedling is placed in the center of the hole, the roots are evenly straightened.
  4. The seedling is covered with soil so that the root collar remains above the surface of the ground.

After planting, the soil around the bush must be compacted, moistened and mulched.

Landing characteristics

The best time for planting is spring or autumn. Autumn planting is only suitable for places with a relatively mild climate and warm winters. Otherwise, in severe frost conditions, the seedlings may simply freeze, because after planting in the fall they are not yet completely rooted.

If you are growing flowers for cutting, plant the rose in September, but in a greenhouse. Next summer, create bouquets of blooming buds. When planting a rose in the spring, you need to guess the right time so that there is no frost. The most favorable planting period is from April to May.

How to plant

Black currant summer resident description of the variety photo reviews
Planting and care are not too different from the usual for tea-hybrid roses. Since the bushes are very hardy, they will not require much time and effort.

  1. In the autumn period (from mid-September to the second half of October), roses of these varieties are recommended to be planted in the southern regions, where autumn and winter are warm. In areas with harsh climates, flowers are planted in spring.
  2. If you are planning to grow bushes exclusively for cutting, then plant the seedling in the fall. Already next summer you will be able to cut it several times and get lush flowering of the bush.
  3. Plan to plant roses in the second half of September - this is the best period. In autumn, grafted roses are planted. After planting, a root will form within a few weeks. The plant will adapt, get stronger and prepare for winter.
  4. In spring, active growth and development begins, not only of the above-ground part of the bush, but also of the root system. Therefore, a rose planted in the spring will be inferior in growth.
  5. Plan to plant in an open, sunny place. But it is better to avoid places with drafts and cold winds. Flowers love fertile, loose, moist and drained soil; acid-alkaline soil with a pH value of 5.6 - 7.3 is recommended.
  6. Before planting, it is better to keep rose seedlings in water for at least 4 - 6 hours. This is especially advisable for plants with an open root system. Before planting, the roots must be cleared of damaged and dry shoots.
  7. The shoots must be shortened, leaving only strong and healthy ones, and cutting off the weak ones. The bush will then grow much better.

Planting in open ground

  • The planting hole should be prepared in advance. The size is at least half a meter in diameter so that the root system of the bush fits together with the earthen lump.
  • At the bottom of the hole, you must make a drainage layer of broken bricks, gravel or small stones. It will not allow excess moisture to stagnate and will help air the roots. Otherwise, putrefactive processes may begin.
  • Prepare the following soil mixture yourself: 3 parts manure, 2 parts fertile soil, 2 parts sand and 1 part peat.
  • If you plan to plant in the spring, then the first ten days of May will be suitable, when the soil is already sufficiently warmed up and the night residual frosts have ended.

The rules are the same as for all garden flowers. Let's consider the main points.

  1. It is recommended to regularly loosen and moisten the soil around rose bushes. Feeding and fertilizing is carried out using a large selection of complex fertilizers.
  2. Spring and summer are the best time to fertilize.
  3. Roses should be watered at least once every 7 days. Especially in hot and dry weather.
  4. Pruning is carried out in the first spring months, before the buds awaken and form.
  5. It is advisable to cover the rose bushes in winter. The bush needs to be covered with a layer of peat about 20 cm. After winter, when it gets warmer, the ground is leveled.

h:100 cm, I: 80 cm.

Two-color double rose, orange-yellow (the core of the flower is bright yellow, the edges are dark orange) D: 13 cm. Pronounced aroma.

CHG. Long flowering period, begins in July and ends in September. When cut, it can last in a vase for up to 14 days. A variety with excellent resistance to diseases and bad weather. It winters well and does not require mandatory shelter.

Rose of the Golden Magic variety is a two-color double rose, orange-yellow in color: the core of the flower is bright yellow, the edges are dark orange, the diameter in bloom is 10 cm, the height of the bush is up to 100 cm, the width is up to 70 cm.

Used for cutting and gardening. This is a new variety of roses grown in the Green House nursery - which exceeds all expectations. From the beginning to the middle, the color of the petal is yellow and gradually turns into orange-red towards the end. Looks great in group plantings. Suitable for forcing and landscaping. Fiery yellow-orange-red color, densely double (more than 40 petals), large flower, regular shape

The color is not uniform, with tints, which attracts attention. The bud is dense, tall, does not fade for a long time

The bush is up to 100 cm, framed by thick dark green foliage, which goes well with the color of the bud. The flowering period is from June to autumn frosts.

Choosing a planting site and preparing the soil

It is important to choose a place in the garden or greenhouse, knowing that the variety loves the sun and does not tolerate strong winds. You should not plant a rose in a place where shadows from buildings or trees will fall. In such conditions, the rose will not receive enough sunlight.

When planting shrubs, it is necessary to take into account the growth dynamics of shrubs. Rose bushes are not only tall, but also spreading, so you should not plant roses together with other flowers. To do this, it is necessary to maintain the distance between groups of planted flowers. It should be at least 90 cm. When the flower is already planted, it is necessary to moisten the soil. After this, it needs to be mulched to prevent moisture evaporation. Hybrid tea roses prefer loose soil with a slightly acidic reaction. Therefore, if the soil does not meet the requirements, it is recommended to first dig a hole with a diameter of about 50 cm and a depth of 30 cm. Fill the hole with compost, leaf humus and sand, or use a ready-made mixture that is sold in the store. Fill the hole ⅓ full with the mixture, then place the plant there , carefully straighten the roots, cover with the rest of the soil and water. Do not water the bush for a week, as the roots may rot.

Description:

Plunge into a mysterious world with the help of a charming rose Black Magic (Black Magic)

.
The magical color and velvet of the petals attracts and intoxicates everyone who sees it. Apparently this fact makes the Black Magic rose
a top seller in the flower industry.

Rose Black Magic

It is widely used by our gardeners as a garden rose, although it was bred for cutting. Charming flowers of a dark red hue, with beautifully bent velvety petals, appear one at a time or in clusters of up to 4 pieces. The play of light and shadow changes the color to an almost black shade of the rose, creating the illusion of dark velvet. With the arrival of autumn and cool evenings, the color of the rose also becomes darker than in the summer. The flowers, although not large, with a diameter of only 9 cm, are still very catchy and attractive.

The bush is elongated, lush, with dark green foliage, 100 cm high, and sometimes 150 cm. Rose Black Magic

captivates with the rich shade of the flower, which looks great both in a flowerbed and in a bouquet.
Rose Black Magic
has gained its popularity due to its unpretentiousness, beautiful bud shape, disease resistance, and bronze young growth.
Rose growers say “there are never too many Black Magic roses
” and you can be convinced of this by ordering seedlings of this rose from us right now!

Black Magic Care

Caring for Black Magic is not much different from caring for other varieties of hybrid tea roses. If necessary, bushes should always be watered with warm and settled water early in the morning or late in the evening. The frequency and intensity of watering directly depend on weather conditions.

Direct the stream of water directly at the root of the plant. When watering, it is necessary to prevent water from getting on the leaves so as not to cause the development of fungal diseases in the plant.

It is necessary to periodically loosen the top layer of soil and, like any garden plant, remove weeds in time. If, when planting, the hole is filled with a nutrient mixture and fertilizers, it is not necessary to fertilize the rose in the first year of cultivation. To form the root system and crown, the rose should not be allowed to bloom in the first year. To do this, all the formed buds are torn off, so the nutrients will be used for the development of roots and branches. In the summer, to increase growth, feed the plant several times with cow humus with the addition of mineral fertilizers. There is no need to do this in the fall.

In the second year of life, feeding roses becomes mandatory and continues throughout the flowering period.

History of creation, origin

This fantastic flower appeared in 1995 in Germany. Place of birth - the famous rose growing company Tantau. The master who created this perfection is Hans Jurgen Evers. In Germany and Europe, the variety was officially registered in 1997 under a name that describes the magical color of the flower - Black Magic. The variety is part of the extensive “Flower Rain” series. The official name is Black Magic and is a registered trademark. Included in the generally accepted color classification Dark red. The unique code name is TANkalgic. In the USA, our heroine gained fame in 1998. Since 2001, the patent for its breeding has been owned by the Jackcon & Perkins company, while the name has remained the same, and the unique code has been changed to TANkalcig. Australia's largest supplier of roses, Knight's Roses, introduced the variety as "Daniel Morkombe", part of the proceeds from the sale are transferred to the fund of the same name, which helps victims of crime and informs children about safety.

Our heroine was conceived and initially grown exclusively as a cut plant (and still remains a leader in cutting cultivation). But Black Magic showed worthy qualities of garden culture, gaining incredible popularity in this status. The favorite of many gardeners is grown mainly in the dry and hot climate of California, Australia, and the African continent. But rose growers in Europe and Russia also could not resist the charms of the beautiful rose, so in cool climates they try to arrange their favorite in the garden as comfortably as possible.

Black Magic is a hybrid tea variety. To get the unusual dark and thick color of the petals, we had to select species that at least vaguely resemble the desired result. Red Velvet, or TANorelav (Tantau), and KORlimit, or Cora Marie (Cordes) were selected for crossing. Both parents are dark red in color.

The most common problems and errors

The quality of flowering and general appearance, despite its unpretentious nature, directly depend on the care of the rose. Let's look at the most common mistakes when growing black roses "Black Magic":

  • Insufficient soil compaction.
    With random gusts of wind, the roots of the plant are disturbed. A quick way to check the level of soil compaction is to pull the bush out after planting. It should stay firmly in the ground and not rise up.
  • Bad fertilizer.
    It is important to know exactly how to properly feed a rose bush. For example, nitrogen fertilizer enhances foliage growth. With magnesium deficiency, small buds grow.
  • Watering and drainage
    . Sooner or later, with heavy watering, root rot begins. The soil must be loose and watering must be moderate.

Advantages and disadvantages of the variety

The unique Black Magic rose stands out among other varieties for its positive qualities. Therefore, rose growers try to plant this variety on their plots.

Even the presence of defects does not reduce the value of the variety

The main advantages of the Black Magic rose variety:

  • extraordinary spectacular coloring of the petals;
  • resistance of buds to rain;
  • ability to withstand low and high ambient temperatures;
  • re-blooming;
  • resistance to diseases and pests;
  • unpretentiousness to soil moisture.

Among the disadvantages of roses, flower growers highlight:

  • increased photophilia (with a lack of light, the color of the petals changes);
  • the need for systematic fertilizing due to the variety’s demanding requirements for the amount of microelements in the soil.

Due to its resistance to diseases and pests, gardeners do not need to carry out repeated treatments of roses.

Methods for propagating black roses

  • Dividing the bush. Performed in the spring before the buds open. It is necessary to dig up the bush and divide it into 2 or 3 parts so that each of them has at least 2 shoots, which should be shortened to 3 buds. Long roots should be cut off and covered with wood ash. Treat the rhizomes with a mixture of manure and clay and place each seedling in a previously prepared hole.
  • Cuttings. The propagation method involves the presence of cuttings with a length of 10 to 12 cm and a diameter of 5 mm, cut at an angle of 45 degrees. First place the cuttings in the plant growth stimulator “Heteroauxin” for 2 days. Then plant the plant in the soil and cover it with transparent plastic film to create a greenhouse effect.

Diseases and pests

The most popular diseases of roses:

  • Powdery mildew
    - resembles a white coating on the leaves. Appears in damp rainy weather. To prevent its occurrence, you need to use special medications (Forecast, Topaz, Fundazol).
  • Rust
    - slightly brown raised spots appear on the leaves of the plant. Drugs such as Hom and Oxychom are used.

The rose is attacked by pests such as rose aphids, spider mites, leaf rollers, and click beetles. To control these insects, different methods are used depending on the type of insect. To protect against pink aphids, you need to spray a solution consisting of 2 g of kerosene and 10 liters of water on the bush. To prevent the appearance of ticks, the bush is sprayed once every 14-20 days with Fitoverm, Agravertin.

Preparing roses for winter

With the onset of cold weather, it is necessary to prepare the plant for wintering.

To do this, you need to cut out the inflorescences and remove the lower leaves. After this, the bushes are hilled to a height of up to 40 cm. When the air temperature drops below zero, the bushes must be covered with a transparent film, leaving the lower edge slightly open.

In September you will have to remove all the tops of the growing shoots. There is no need to loosen or water rose bushes in the fall. Before frost, cut off immature shoots and tops of stems and then tilt them to the ground.

Features of care

Let's learn how to properly care for the spectacular rose Black Magic.

Watering

Sufficient and regular moisture is very important for this plant. Watering is carried out with warm soft water: cold water and fresh from the tap cannot be used

The soil should not be over-moistened: the Black Magic rose will tolerate drought better than systematic overflow. If the soil is still wet after rain, you don’t have to water it at all, but simply loosen the soil in the garden bed.

Tip: combine watering with loosening the soil: the rose needs light and permeable soil.

Weeding

Rose Black Magic needs to carefully remove weeds from its garden bed. It is best to do this work after watering, since even the most stubborn weeds can be easily removed from the damp soil.

Top dressing

If all the necessary fertilizers were added to the hole when planting, the roses are not fed for the first year. From the second year they begin to apply fertilizers throughout the entire growing season.

  • In the spring, the shrub that has woken up after wintering is fed with organic matter: an infusion of mullein or chicken droppings (1 liter of substance per 10 liters of water).
  • When the buds begin to form, fertilize them twice a month, using special complexes for roses or flowering shrubs.
  • In mid-summer, a solution of mullein is added (1 liter of substance per 10 liters of water): complex minerals are added to the resulting mixture. In autumn, the rose is not fed, so as not to cause the growth of new shoots by winter.

You can also apply fertilizers foliarly: that is, by spraying. However, such an application is possible only before flowering. It is better to spray with a solution of Humate (1 tsp per 5 liters of water) or superphosphate (1 part of the substance per 10 parts of water). Spraying is done in the standard way: using a spray bottle or sprayer: as evenly as possible.

Attention: it is advisable to carry out foliar feeding in the evening to avoid sunburn of the foliage.

Trimming

The bush needs shaping to give it a neat, well-groomed appearance. In addition, in the first year of cultivation, it is strongly recommended to cut off all flower buds that appear. This measure is aimed at abundant and prolonged flowering of the shrub in subsequent years and at the formation of its powerful root system.

During flowering, do not forget to tear off spent buds. If this is not done, the flowering of the rose may soon stop altogether: the plant will direct all its energy to forming a seed pod.

Wintering

The plant requires mandatory preparation for winter and shelter. In the fall, hill up the bush - the ridge should be 40 cm high. Before the procedure, tear off the leaves from below so that they do not get buried: otherwise the leaves will rot.

It is also recommended to pinch the tops of growing shoots in the fall in order to limit this growth. By autumn, watering should be reduced to a minimum, and closer to cold weather should be stopped altogether. Fallen leaves should be collected and burned.

Before sheltering, prune, removing shoots that have not yet matured, as well as damaged or broken shoots. After pruning, the bush bends to the ground and takes cover.

The shelter is made using a wooden frame, onto which a thick film is stretched on top. It is necessary to provide holes in the shelter so that the bush underneath does not suffocate.

Attention: put the rose under cover when the temperature outside drops below zero. If you do this earlier, there is a high risk of the plant overheating and subsequent rotting.

Application in landscape design

This variety of roses is very common in landscape design.

When you combine the Black Magic rose with an exquisite aquilegia and beautiful monarchs, you will get an interesting combination of colors in landscape design. Ornamental grass will serve as an excellent background for roses, and planting decorative deciduous shrubs such as mock orange or viburnum will improve the well-being of the garden. Roses have always been of particular interest to gardeners. It is necessary to choose the correct location of the plant, provide watering, apply excellent fertilizer and timely pruning.

Reviews from flower growers about the rose Black Magic

Maria. Kaluga. Black magic is a hard worker variety. Would buy again and again. They bloom very profusely with a break of 2-3 weeks. The flowers bloom very slowly, and then last a long time, two weeks each. The flowers are first burgundy and then almost black. Beauty!

Zoya, Lugansk region. Black Magic is an excellent rose, the flowers do not lose their shape and stay on the bush for a very long time, it blooms in any rain, the bush grows at high speed, in one year I counted about 50 flowers on the bush during one flowering (at different stages of opening, from half-opened buds to fading, it looks very original. True, the bush was mature, about 6 years old.

Angela. Vladivostok. Before this winter, I covered my Black Magic too warmly and it froze. The shoots grew striped after wintering - black, green, black again. A week later they turned completely black. I already wanted to throw the bush away, but there was no time. Suddenly, lo and behold, shoots began to emerge from under the ground. Now there are already buds and it is clearly visible that this is Black Magic. It's so tenacious!

Galina. Moscow region. Super variety. I didn’t expect that in the Moscow region a hybrid tea variety could grow and bloom as if in the south... First - single flowers - a large bud opens with wavy velvet. They are not afraid of rain or sun. Then re-blooming begins - the flowers are smaller, but there are more than a dozen average-sized buds on one trunk. The power of growth is remarkable. I advise everyone to purchase this variety.

Herbs that enhance magical abilities

Not all sorcerers naturally have supernatural abilities. It turns out that they can be developed with the help of special herbs, which will be discussed below:

  • Verbena

This wonderful plant awakens all the hidden talents in a person. It helps protect against enemies - physical and spiritual. Children begin to study better if they wear an amulet with vervain.

  • St. John's wort

Magicians are always under the onslaught of otherworldly forces - they need powerful protection and support. The machinations of evil spirits sometimes surprise with their diversity. A twig of St. John's wort helps ward off all bad things and develops a sixth sense.

  • Nettle

Awakens in a person courage and readiness for any exploits. But this does not at all indicate rashness of actions - before taking the decisive step, the owner of the magic plant will verify its future effectiveness several times.

  • Burdock

Burdocks help establish contact with the brownie. This is necessary so that he maintains peace at home and takes care of comfort.

  • Peter's cross

Powders, infusions and decoctions with this herb help to cope with a series of misfortunes - what is popularly called a “black streak”.

How to care for roses?

There is nothing special about caring for the Black Magic rose. Like all other varieties, it needs:

  • feeding;
  • loosening the soil;
  • weeding;
  • pruning bushes;
  • watering;
  • control of diseases and pests.

The plant should be watered under the bush, trying not to get on the foliage. Water promotes the development of fungal diseases in the plant. It is best to water in the early morning or late evening. Their intensity depends on weather conditions. You need to loosen the soil very carefully so as not to disturb the roots. If you mulch the ground near the plant, this will reduce the growth of weeds, and the moisture will evaporate more slowly.

Particular attention should be paid to feeding, it should be done regularly. After removing the film, it is necessary to use nitrogen fertilizers, this will accelerate plant growth

Then, after the initial period of plant growth, fertilizers containing microelements are applied. When buds appear, bait is fed with an infusion of bird droppings or manure. When preparing the plant for winter, it is necessary to apply potassium fertilizer. Roses should be pruned in summer. Blind shoots and shoots of the rootstock are cut above the leaves.

Features of agricultural technology

When cultivating roses, you should take into account some botanical features of this ornamental crop:

  • in the northern regions of our country, for planting rose bushes, it is recommended to allocate areas on high ground so that the roses are well illuminated by the sun and have sufficient protection from the northern cold winds;
  • growing roses in the southern regions is more convenient, but requires the allocation of flat areas protected from dry and hot winds for planting;
  • Strong shading or excessively intense lighting also has an adverse effect on the growth qualities and flowering indicators of rose bushes;
  • the soil in the rose growing area must be structural and have sufficient water permeability;
  • Chernozem loamy soils and relatively calcareous soils are best suited for cultivating rose bushes;

  • the presence of loose and sandy soils requires improvement by applying manure, and heavy clay soil can be corrected with sand, straw-rotted manure or compost;
  • soil preparation should include deep autumn plowing with the application of mineral fertilizers;
  • planting of rose seedlings should be carried out in the spring, before the onset of the active growing season, or in early autumn;
  • for planting annual seedlings, it is necessary to prepare planting holes measuring approximately 35x35 cm;
  • About 3.0–3.5 kg of rotted manure or compost mass should be poured into the bottom of the planting hole before immersing the rose’s root system.

The technology for growing black hybrid tea roses of the “Black Prince” variety does not differ significantly from the agricultural technology of other varieties and consists in implementing standard measures for caring for the ornamental crop.

Special attention requires timely and competent pruning, which will create a high-quality crown of the plant and stimulate annual, abundant and long-lasting flowering. Pruning is done in early spring, before the buds begin to swell. It can be different:

  • short pruning of shoots into two buds guarantees abundant, lush, annual flowering and forms a decorative crown;
  • average pruning of shoots into five buds is most often used when growing hybrid tea varieties;
  • long pruning of the apical part of the shoots and branches into ten buds is necessary for plants with too active growth;
  • Anti-aging pruning of the Black Prince rose is carried out almost at the surface of the soil and promotes the formation of young and stronger shoots.

Black Prince rose bushes are watered as needed. Neither excessive drying of the soil nor soaking of the root system of the decorative crop should be allowed. In hot and dry weather, watering should be carried out 3-4 times a month, spending about 2-3 buckets of water for each adult rose bush. After rains and irrigation activities, it is necessary to loosen the soil. To support the plant’s immunity and improve the condition of the rose at all stages of growth and development, it is recommended to fertilize according to the following scheme:

  • the first application of fertilizers is carried out before the formation of buds, using 10–15 g of ammonium nitrate or ammonium sulfate, 25–30 g of superphosphate and 10–15 g of potassium salt per 10 liters of water;
  • the second feeding, after flowering, is carried out with a solution based on 25–50 g of ammonium nitrate or ammonium sulfate, 50–60 g of superphosphate and 10–15 g of potassium salt per 10 liters of water.

During the winter, it is recommended to cover the hybrid tea rose of the “Black Prince” variety, which is especially important when growing this ornamental crop in regions with harsh or little snow winters. It is best to use spruce branches or special breathable covering material for this purpose. You should not rush to remove the cover in the spring, but it is not recommended to delay this process, since in this case there is a high probability of damping out of the above-ground part of the plant.

Necessary conditions for cultivation

The rose is a demanding plant that can thrive provided the right conditions are provided. Black Magic has similar features.

Rules for planting, growing and caring for climbing roses in open groundRead

Choosing a place

Rose does not tolerate strong winds. Therefore, it is recommended to plant the plant in areas protected from drafts. The Black Magic bush is distinguished by spreading and long shoots, which imposes certain requirements on the growing area. In order for the flower to develop normally, the plant must be planted at a distance of 90-100 centimeters from neighboring crops, including roses.

Illumination of the area

When choosing a location, it is necessary to take into account that the plant grows exclusively in well-lit areas. Due to the lack of sunlight, small flowers appear on the shoots, and the crop gets sick more often.

Temperature

Unlike other hybrid tea varieties, the Black Magic rose is able to withstand prolonged droughts and temperature changes. Thanks to these properties, the plant is grown in both cool and hot climates. However, before the onset of frost, the bushes must be pruned and covered.

Humidity and drafts

Due to strong winds and high humidity, the plant often gets sick and dies. It is recommended to grow flowers in places protected from drafts, while providing moderate watering.

Optimal soil composition

Rose Black Magic grows well in loose and slightly acidic soil. Before planting a flower, it is recommended to add a mixture of humus, sand and compost to the soil. But even if these requirements are met, gardeners additionally fertilize the soil by adding wood ash, raised soil from the site and complex compositions for roses into the hole prepared for plants.

How to plant
