Then you cut out the spiral and twist it with your hands or with a pencil, giving it the shape of a rose. Carefully glue the tip so that the flower does not unfurl, and attach it to the wire-stem, which you first wrap with green crepe paper. Volume peony for scrapbooking
To make such a charming and delicate peony that will decorate any album or postcard using the scrapbooking technique, you will need:
- A4 size watercolor paper – 2 sheets;
- watercolor paints, brushes and water;
- peony petals template;
- stamens (made from thin wire, onto which a piece of cotton wool is wound, and then everything is painted golden, yellow or silver);
- Moment glue, scissors, hole punch, mat and embossing sticks.
After you print out the flower templates (the ones in the photo above will also work) from which you will make a peony, proceed to the following steps.
- Cut out the blanks and use a hole punch to make a hole in the middle of each for the stamens.
- Paint all the blanks on both sides with watercolors.
- When all the blanks are well dry, use an embossing stick, lightly pressing on the paper, to give the flowers a shape.
- Using PVA glue, begin assembling the flower, working from the largest piece to the smallest. Apply glue around the hole in the middle.
- Insert the stamens into the middle of the peony and secure them with glue on the back side.
- The stamens are covered with a bifoliate green sepal and the flower is ready.
How to make hyacinths from paper and napkins
Magnificent, bright flowers will look great in a vase or in a basket, and will decorate any interior. It’s very easy to make paper hyacinths in two ways, but both of them involve winding the blanks on a stick or an out-of-use felt-tip pen.
The photo clearly shows that in the first version the flower is made from sheets of paper folded in half, cut along the fold into narrow marks, and then put on a felt-tip pen (stick). First the top, and then the remaining strips of blanks, which are twisted onto the base in a spiral.
In the second option, colored strips of paper, already cut into small notches (which are immediately twisted into spirals), are wound onto a pencil.
Similar hyacinths are made from napkins or thin corrugated paper, but using a slightly different technology.
Paper (napkins) are cut into many small squares, and then glued onto the base rod using the trimming method, starting from the top.
As an option, do not make the flowers square, but cut the paper into strips and then finely chop along the edge, and then roll them up on a thin stick or toothpick. Then you glue the flowers to the base as close to each other as possible, thus creating volume for the flower.
Retro dahlias from magazines
When you don’t have colored paper at home, but want to make something interesting and beautiful for decoration, use the idea of making flowers from old glossy magazines.
In addition to old magazines, you will need:
- green tape;
- wooden skewers;
- hot melt glue and PVA glue;
- scissors, preferably sharp.
Select only the brightest pages from the magazine. Fold each page twice in half lengthwise and use scissors to cut them finely, “into noodles,” not reaching the edge 1-1.5 cm.
Having secured the edge of such a ribbon to the edge of the skewer with glue, begin to wind the workpiece onto the stick, winding the fringed ribbon in several layers. Glue the edge of the workpiece so that the flower does not unwind.
Use green tape to decorate the bud from the bottom and wrap it further around the skewer, creating the effect of a green stem.
Pompom dahlias for garlands

But the assembly principle is the same in any case. You need to fold a sheet of colored paper into an accordion, cut both sides, forming petals and making them either round or pointed.
