Excess plants in the house
Arranging a beautiful green corner in your apartment is a great idea, but it’s important to take it in moderation. According to environmentalist Rachel Mayo, people sometimes get so excited about filling their homes with greenery that they buy too many different flowers. As a result, the plants die while we try to figure out how to properly care for each of them.
It is better to start with one, maximum two, choose the appropriate care for them, and then gradually add one more new “pet” at a time.
Lots of scandals
Scientists conducted an experiment with water, studying the effect of sound on liquid. The water that was shouted at quickly spoiled. But pleasant sounds improved beneficial properties.
Plants also consist of a lot of water and also respond to sounds. Some people immediately begin to wither if the house is too loud.
It is not children's laughter or songs of cheerful guests that are taken into account, but scandals. When the concentration of negativity due to quarrels in the room becomes too high, the flower begins to absorb darkness into itself. This won’t save you from scandals, but it will get rid of living organisms in the house.
Scheduled watering
The frequency of watering depends on the amount of light the flowers receive, temperature, air humidity and many other factors. The author of the blog about house plants, Lisa Eldred-Steinkopf, advises not to water on a schedule, but to check the condition of the soil. For example, if it was cloudy all week, the process of photosynthesis was not very active, which means that the plant may not need water on the next scheduled day.
You can assess the condition of the soil with your finger if the plant “lives” in a shallow pot, or with a wooden stick if it is in a large and deep one. You need to immerse the stick in the ground so that it reaches the bottom of the pot, leave it for a minute, and then pull it out and check. If it is wet at the end, it means it is too early to water the plant.
In this case, for example, cacti and succulents should be “watered” when the soil is completely dry. Tropical foliage plants - in partially moist soil. Ferns and flowers with thin leaves - in slightly dry soil.
It is important not to forget about the correct breaks between waterings. The same cacti or succulents may not be watered for several weeks, but ferns will need moisture within a week.
